I'm from a country with nasty summers and can't stand seeing others suffering from extreme heat, so here goes nothing

some things might be centric to my country, but see the title. I'm Catherine and I want to help.

  1. stay hydrated. not going to say "drink water" because some people just don't like water. but drink something, please.
  2. air conditioning sounds good, until your electricity bills are up the roof. it's preferable to have an electric fan. R. sometimes does a thing where she puts an iced water bottle in front of the fan for extra refreshment.
  3. this one's a little impossible for me, but might be useful for you all: loose-fitting clothing. preferably light colored, and made of cotton or linen. polyester doesn't breathe and tight clothes keeps the heat close to the body.
  4. take two showers per day, or even more, if you need to.
  5. place a wet rag on your forehead.

if anyone can add more, please do.

i just splash some water on top of my head before i leave. no one outside cares your hair is wet trust me, but it prevents your head from sunstrokes. also it dries quickly. summer hats are cool too

In places with high humidity try to stay in the shade as much as possible, bring an umbrella with you everywhere if you have to

Also if you do end up drinking a lot of water to stay hydrated make sure to eat snacks too, you lose a Lot of salt when you sweat
